Schecter Stiletto Elite-5 Bass Guitar 2008 is my 8th electric bass to purchase or make. I was looking to buy a Modulus Quantum 5 for about $2500, but this bass sounds better. It has more tonal variation. The string spacing is very narrow for finger work, but perfect for using a pick! After a couple of week I got used to the string spacing for fingers(right hand). The neck pickup is very warm and throaty sounding. The bridge pickup is very Jazzy sounding. The pickup placement appear to be classic Jazz bass positions. With both pickups dialed in, the sound is more progressive sounding than a Jazz bass, but I like this characteristic about the bass.My only complaints about the bass is that the G string was to close to the edge of the fingerboard, so I moved the whole bridge assembly toward the B string 1/16". This helps me quite a bit from falling off of the finger board. The other thing I did was put fret board markers in the standard places. For a two octave neck, when you are playing way up there, it does help. The bridge is a little funky to set up, but it works. The EMG`s are custom and they sound great. The active circuit is very quiet, as far as noise and hiss are concerned. With a good set of D`Addario`s or Labella`s this bass sounds hot ! Schecter Stiletto Elite-5 Bass Guitar 2008
