Ashdown MAG C115-300 Combo Bass Amp. I had always heard of the Ashdown amps, but I had never actually played one. I bought this based on Ashdown`s reputation, and I AM IMPRESSED! I brought this amp over to my friend`s house, and he just got a Hartke 4x10 with a tweeter (VX series, not the the aluminum cone ones), and one of the 350 watt heads, and man was he ticked off when he heard MY amp! The Ashdown had MORE low end, more power (even though the Ashdown is rated at around 300 watts), and he also had to admit that the Ashdown had a cleaner, clearer TOP END, even though there is no tweeter in the Ashdown!
This is BY FAR the best sounding bass amp that you can get in its price range, and it actually sounds as good or better than amps costing almost twice as much (my friend paid over $700 for his rig)! I don`t know how they are doing this at this price (because I had always heard that the Ashdown stuff was expensive). I think Ashdown MAG C115-300 Combo Bass Amp is made in China (that would explain the low price), but the back of the amp says it`s made in England. I`m not sure where it`s made, but I really don`t care because this thing sounds great. I would highly recommend this amp, and I applaud Ashdown for making a great sounding product that the average musician can afford.

Front panel push switches for Bright and Deep settings provide instant access to attacking and warm, rounded sounds respectively and, on the subject of low-end response, the trademark Ashdown sub-harmonic generator is ready and able to deliver truck loads of earth moving tone if called upon. Inputs are provided for active and passive instruments and the front panel also features an effects send and return, a tuner/line output and a balanced DI output for direct connection to a mixing console.
