Hofner Icon Series Vintage Violin Bass is incredible. Extremely lightweight, and beautiful. Beautiful sound too, although compression greatly enhances the sound quality of it. It`s much like the more expensive models, except with "corners cut". It was constructed in China rather than Germany, rather than being hand-made, its mass produced, and is made of cheaper materials. Hofner Icon Series Vintage Violin Bass has an incredible amount of natural Bass to it, the highs and mids are beautiful too. Words can`t explain the beauty of this instrument. Why settle with the Ugly step-sister (Epiphone, Jay Turser) when you can have the real deal? The main problem I have with it is you can`t slap with it. Other than that, this is a perfect instrument. I`m a Hofner man for life :-D
