Bought this Gallien-Krueger Brat Pack Half-Stack Bass Amp Package thinking it was a great deal and I could add a 212 cabinet I already had to it. Can`t add to this puppy in the normal way. Less than an 8 ohm load will melt the amp and the manual warns you not to hook up anything other than one 8 ohm cabinet. So you are stuck with only using the 115 cabinet.
Sound is good at practice levels, but if you try to turn it up to rehearsal levels, let alone gig levels, the sound turns into a painful, roaring, muddy sound. It is totally useless for anything but a personal practice amp.
Covers are nice, and the GK115 8 ohm cabinet can be used with other amps and cabs but this GK Brat Pack set-up is terrible. I use the speaker cabinet now with another 410 cab and an amplifier putting out 400 rms watts at 4 ohms. The 115 helps hold the low end of this set up fine, but if that`s what you need. just go buy the cabinet.
